Research Bursaries

The BSBR is keen to promote and support research within the breast imaging community and is pleased to offer up to £10,000 each year to help fund research projects in breast imaging. The bursary may be applied for individually, or as a team from national or international BSBR members. The decision to award research bursaries is made based on the merit of submissions by the BSBR Executive Committee which may choose to award to a single or multiple projects to a maximum combined value of £10,000.

Applications are encouraged from radiologists, radiographers, advanced practitioners, radiology trainees, physicists or anyone with an interest in breast imaging.

Please contact BSBR research lead, Nuala Healy, nuala.healy1@nhs.net for further information.

The deadline for 2024 submissions is 30th April 2024 and submissions can be emailed to t.suaris@nhs.net

The submitted research proposal should include the title of the project, names of the BSBR members involved in the study, an overview of the project including a detailed costing for the study and an estimated timeline for the project. If awarded a bursary, you will be required to present an update of the study at the research session at the BSBR ASM.
